SUBJECT:   Legacy Aviation Weather Center webpages (ADDS) and

Java applets no longer available effective

           June 30, 2016

Effective Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 1500 Coordinated

Universal Time (UTC), the legacy Aviation Weather Center

webpages listed at

http://www.aviationweather.gov/info/legacy

and Java applets at

https://www.aviationweather.gov/adds

will no longer be publicly accessible. If a user attempts to

access these legacy webpages after this date/time, the user will

be automatically redirected. Additionally, the Java applets will

no longer properly function with Java Release 9. As the Java

applet has evolved, its Application Programming Interface (API)

has also changed, to the point where it can no longer be

reliably used since it significantly degrades Web browser

performance and must be deprecated.

If users still want to use Java functionality, please visit the

Flight Path Tool application:

http://www.aviationweather.gov/flightpath

Otherwise, users can access a variety of OpenLayers GIS

applications readily available at:

http://www.aviationweather.gov
