SUBJECT: Changes to the sea state analyses produced by the Ocean

Prediction Center Effective October 3, 2016

Effective October 3, 2016, beginning at 1200 UTC, the NWS

National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Ocean

Prediction Center (OPC) will change the frequency of sea state

analysis web images for the western Atlantic and eastern Pacific

Oceans.

Currently, sea state analyses are produced every

3 hours for the Internet. Effective October 3, 2016, the OPC

will produce these sea state analyses every 6 hours for the

synoptic times of 0000 UTC, 0600 UTC, 1200 UTC, and 1800 UTC.

This change will align issuance of the sea state analyses with

the surface analyses.  The change also will increase flexibility

in the OPC workflow to test and implement additional marine

forecast products to improve safety of life and property at sea.

These products can be found at:

http://www.opc.ncep.noaa.gov

Atlantic:

Pacific:

There will be no effect on the content or schedule via the

Worldwide Marine Radiofacsimile Broadcast:
