Subject: Updated: Implementation of Mixed-Case Text/95 ASCII

         Character Set in Preliminary Local Storm Reports (LSR)

         Delayed until further notice


Updated to delay implementation: The implementation of mixed-

case Text/95 ASCII character set in Preliminary LSRs is delayed

until further notice. Isolated issues identified during the

implementation period have resulted in a reversion to the

creation and dissemination of case structure (uppercase/limited

punctuation set) of LSRs. This conversion return will delay

future mixed-case implementation until further notice. No format

changes (e.g., spacing, order) were included with the

implementation on October 26.


Additionally, proposed changes to event sources and types will

also be delayed until further notice.


Once a new implementation date is identified, NWS will issue an

updated SCN at least 30 days prior.
