SUBJECT: Change of Tsunami Break Points for California Effective

         February 16, 2017

 

Effective February 16, 2017, the National Tsunami Warning Center

will change tsunami warning break points for the following

geographic areas of California:

 

Old break points with corresponding public zones: 

Oregon/California border:  CAZ101, CAZ103, CAZ104

Horse Mountain

 

New break points with corresponding public zones: 

Oregon/California border:  CAZ101

Humboldt/Del Norte Line:  CAZ103

Cape Mendocino:  CAZ104

Mendo/Hum County Line

 

The old break point at Horse Mountain has been renamed to

Mendo/Hum County Line. Two new breakpoints separating the public

zones have been added to provide more specificity in tsunami

alert delineation.
