Subject:  Final Update: Change in Satellite Broadcast Network

(SBN) Effective from December 5, 2017, to

          January 16, 2018

Update issued to confirm termination of all SES-1 services

On January 16, 2018, the dual illumination of the Galaxy 28 (G-

28) and SES-1 satellite NOAAPort/SBN/NWWS services will

terminate with deactivation of the SES-1 NOAAPort/SBN/NWWS

interface. All current services will remain accessible via the

G-28 satellite.

NWS recommends all customers complete transitioning to the G-28

at their earliest opportunity to mitigate any unexpected issues

or problems which may be encountered prior to the SES-1

satellite NOAAPort/SBN/NWWS interface being deactivated.  At

this time, there are no planned extensions of the SES-1 services

by the NWS.
