Subject: Implementing enhanced Gulf of Mexico Harmful Algal

         Bloom Bulletins and Conditions Reports Effective

         December 11, 2017


Effective Monday, December 11, 2017, at 8 am Eastern Standard

Time (EST) or 1300 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), harmful

algal bloom (HAB) forecast information provided by the Gulf of

Mexico HAB Operational Forecast System (HAB-OFS) will be

georeferenced in a geospatial PDF. The enhancement allows users

to query interactive data layers and access the metadata

associated with observations. This additional data can be used

to better understand the location, impact and forecasts of a

Starting on December 11, NOS will discontinue the current

version of the HAB bulletin and conditions report. Users can

access the new conditions reports, publically available for all

areas within the Gulf of Mexico HAB-OFS responsibility, at

Karenia brevis HAB event response or research. Bulletins are

publically available 1-week after publication to subscribers.
