Subject: Discontinuing the Experimental Spanish Language

Hurricane Local Statement issued by the National

Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office (WFO) in

Brownsville, TX, Effective April 10, 2017

Effective April 10, 2017, the NWS WFO in Brownsville, TX, will

no longer issue the experimental Spanish Language Hurricane

Local Statement (HLS). The Spanish version of the HLS was

crafted to match a now outdated HLS format and it can no longer

be supported. No comments were received on the product during

its experimental period as there were no tropical cyclones

during the past two hurricane seasons that necessitated issuance

of the product.
