Tropical Cyclone Local Products...

Effective on or about June 26, 2017, the National Weather

Service (NWS) will transition the following tropical cyclone

text products issued by Weather Forecast Offices (WFOs), except

for NWS offices in the Western and Southern Pacific basins, from

all capital letters to a mixed-case text format/expanded 95

ASCII character set:

Product Name                                 AWIPS ID*

------------                                 --------

Tropical Cyclone Local Watch/Warning (TCV)    TCVXXX

Hurricane Local Statement (HLS)               HLSXXX

* XXX is the WFO Three-Letter ID

HLS products from the NWS offices in the Western and Southern

Pacific basins, WFO Guam and WSO Pago Pago, will remain in all

capital letters.  These offices do not produce TCV products.

If there are active U.S. tropical cyclone watches or warnings on

June 26, the NWS will delay implementation of this change until

those watches and warnings have been terminated.
