SUBJECT:  Implementation of temporary Terminal Aerodrome

          Forecast (TAF) Service for Minnesota sites,

          Effective February 1-6, 2018

 

NOTE:     The following changes have no impact on NOAA

          Weather Wire Service subscribers

 

Effective Thursday, February 1 2018, at 0000 Universal

Coordinated Time (UTC), the NWS office in Minneapolis, MN, will

begin temporary TAF service for the following Minnesota Airports

at the request of the FAA in support of Super Bowl 52. The

temporary TAFs will be issued routinely 24 hours a day until

Tuesday, February 6 at 0000 UTC.

 

The effective date of this change is sooner than specified by

NWS policy (NWS Instruction 10-1805). The reduction of the

normal advance lead time was approved after coordination with

local users.

 

NWS personnel/offices will need to add the following identifier

to their communications systems to receive the new TAF:

collectives with the WMO Heading available to the users

identified below and the TAFs are transmitted to FAA personnel

and other external users.
