Subject: Changes in fire and public zones for WFO Melbourne, FL,

         Effective May 1, 2018

Effective Tuesday May 1, 2018, at 200 PM Eastern Daylight Time

(EDT), 1800 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), the boundary

between the Inland and Coastal Volusia County public and fire

weather forecast zones for NWS Weather Forecast Office (WFO)

Melbourne (MLB), FL, will be adjusted eastward approximately

9 miles.

The coastal-inland split will shift from the middle of the

county to the eastern portion of the country, generally parallel

to and approximately 3 miles west of Interstate 95. This change

will better reflect observed coastal and inland weather regimes

and is intended to provide increased flexibility and improved

accuracy of forecast and various watches, warnings and

advisories in the public and fire weather programs.

Table 1 lists WFO MLB's modified public and fire weather

forecast zones.  Table 2 lists WFO MLB's affected products.
