SUBJECT:  Corrected: NWS Upper Air Station in Charleston, SC,

          to Begin Use of the GPS Lockheed Martin LMS-6

          Radiosonde on or about March 20, 2014


Corrected WMO Number


The NWS upper air site in Charleston, South Carolina (WMO 72208,

Station ID: KCHS), is scheduled to transition from the GPS

Lockheed Martin Mark IIA radiosonde to the GPS Lockheed Martin

LMS-6 radiosonde on or about March 20, 2014. This station uses

the Radiosonde Replacement System (RRS).


No missed observations are expected to occur during the

transition in equipment. The WMO Radiosonde Identification Code

for the LMS-6 radiosonde is 82.
