Subject:  Ensemble Kernel Density Model Output Statistics added

          to SBN and NOAAPORT Effective April 21, 2015


Effective on or about Tuesday, April 21, 2015, beginning with the

1200 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) run, the Meteorological

Development Laboratory will disseminate Ensemble Kernel Density

Model Output Statistics (EKDMOS) guidance across the Satellite

Broadcast Network (SBN) and NOAAPORT in GRIB2 format.


EKDMOS provides probabilistic guidance for sensible weather

elements based on the North American Ensemble Prediction System

(NAEFS).  A web page outlining the EKDMOS products and the NWS

server directory and file structure can be found online at:


The grib2 products will be provided as part of the National

Digital Guidance Database (NDGD). These products will continue to

be available on the NWS ftp server at:
