Prepare for the likelihood of minor flooding of low lying areas. Moderate erosion and high waves are likely. |
| Moderate |
Prepare for the likelihood of coastal flooding of low lying flood prone areas. Significant erosion, high waves, and inundation may cause waterfront and coastal damage. Major beach erosion is likely. Tidal flooding similar to what occurred with the October 1991 nor’easter is possible. |
| High |
Prepare for the likelihood of significant, life-threatening storm surge flooding of coastal and bay locations with tide levels over 10 feet MSL. Widespread inundation and damage to roads, infrastructure, and buildings is possible. |
| Extreme |
Prepare for the likelihood of severe, life-threatening storm surge flooding of coastal and bay locations with tide levels of 10 to 30 ft above MSL is possible. Coastal inundation and severe damage to roads, infrastructure, and buildings is likely. Tidal flooding similar to what occurred with Hurricane Isabel in September 2003 is possible. |
