AHPS Receives High Marks in Vermont
Senior
Service Hydrologist Greg Hanson from the National Weather Service Forecast
Office (WFO) Burlington passed along these positive comments from an engineer
with Central Vermont Public Service power company. "I discovered
your [AHPS] stage
forecast web page a while ago and it has helped immensely during a
large project which includes an impoundment draw down at our Weybridge
station on Otter Creek. Our operator keeps saying we've been lucky
with the water' and I try to explain to him that it has been more than
that. Thanks for the service and we will provide feedback as we continue
to use your products."
Hanson, a 15 year veteran in the NWS hydrologic program has been working
at the Burlington WFO for 5 years. He stated, "There were several
days of isolated heavy rain during the dam work where AHPS proved to be
especially beneficial."
Greg oversees the Lake Champlain watershed and the Vermont portion of
the Connecticut River and a portion of the St Lawrence River. His hard
work at building a good dialogue with his AHPS users has proven to be
beneficial. Good job Greg!
