The National Flood Insurance Program Coordinator for the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) was presented Turn Around Don’t Drown (TADD) warning signs from the NWS Lower Mississippi River Forecast Center. The six TADD signs will be distributed to local Emergency Managers in North Mississippi. The signs will be posted at three flood prone areas which have had water covering the road several times last year with one location requiring a water rescue.
Installation will be at the following locations:
- Lowndes County, MS: Steens, Steens Road
- Lee County, MS: Saltillo, MS Water Street and Old Saltillo Road
Remember to play it smart and safe. Whether driving or walking, any time you come to a flooded road, TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN! |
