IMPORTANT NOTICE TO CAFE USERS - Effective 15 January 2001, Dave Glotfelty assumes responsibilty for the maintenance of the CAFE formatters.
Mr. Harvey Iwamoto, CRS Support Team, has created an interim AWIPS based CRS product formatter called CAFE (CRS AWIPS Formatter Extended). The intent of CAFE is to provide sites with a fully capable formatter until such time when theTDL developed AWIPS baseline formatters reach maturity. CAFE consists of a series of 'tcl' and UNIX shell scripts, which convert AWIPS text products into CRS voice ready products. The CAFE suite of product formatters is highly configurable. Individual products are tailored through the use of a 'config.NNN' file, where NNN is a particular product Id, ie. SVR or TOR for example. Please read the CAFE How-To document for further information.
Bug fixes and changes to the CAFE formatter scripts are documented in the CAFE "What's New" page. This page will be updated frequently and should be checked often. Sites are encouraged to download and install the newest versions of the CAFE formatter scripts.
