The default localization in the AWIPS Migration software ("AWIPS II") is OAX. Each hour, SEC posts a tarball of current OAX SBN data representing an hour's worth of data. Six tarballs, containing data from the past six hours, are available for download. The tarballs range in size from several hundred MB to more than a GB. The table below is updated every hour, so be sure to refresh this page when visiting.
Download instruction: Right-mouse click on the file name. Choose "Save Link As..." in FireFox/Mozila or "Save Target As.." in Internet Explorer.
An ingest script written by SEC will automatically feed data contained in the tarballs to the EDEX file endpoints in real-time fashion. To use it, follow the instructions in README.ingestData.
Time Conversion of Grib Model Data
To reset the timestamps to current time in grib files found in the canned data, please follow the procedure described in README.degrib. You will need the tarball containing the wrapper script and program which can be downloaded here. This procedure has been tested in SEC. It should be useful for those who do not have easy access to live model data and are evaluating applications such as GFESuite which impose time constraints on the ingest and display of data.
Please contact Walter Scott prior to re-distributing the above materials to parties outside of NWS/NOAA.
