2nd NCPO-NWS Dialogue

To improve linkages between research and operations and to enhance the science infusion from NOAA climate program into NWS operations, the NOAA Climate Program Office (NCPO) and NWS Management held a routine dialogue on January 4, 2006. The meeting gave an opportunity for NCPO to get input from NWS on NWS operations requirements and research priorities to develop the NCPO FY07 annual call for proposals. The topics were the followings.

  3. Climate Test Bed current and future science priorities
  4. Drought monitoring and prediction
  5. Climate Forecast System
  6. NWS Hydrology Test Bed
  7. Research transfer to NWS/River Forecast Centers
  8. CPC Top 10 & Ongoing Analysis of the Climate System
  9. Future process field studies
