Introduction

We are pleased to announce the Office of Science & Technology is launching a mentoring program called Guidance Equal-Opportunity Mentoring Sessions (GEMS). We continually experience first-hand the impact that encouraging, listening and role-modeling can have on career development. Mentoring programs give us all a chance to contribute to each others skills and attributes. The purpose of GEMS will be to provide opportunities for hands-on training sessions to help build confidence as leaders and team players. You will be given the opportunity to share your expertise with others and learn something from your co-workers. It seems that in today’s society, many organizations have come to realize the importance of providing leadership development opportunities for their staff. These opportunities could help to motivate employees, promote competitiveness, and produce positive impacts on office mission goals. We hope you will join us.
