- Under age 15, 7.8 percent of the U.S. population reported having any type of disability and 3.8 percent reported having a severe disability
- Between the ages of 15 and 24, 10.7 percent reported having any type of disability and 5.3 percent reported having a severe disability
- Between the ages of 25 and 44, 13.4 percent reported having any type of disability and 8.1 percent reported having a severe disability
- Between the ages of 45 and 54, 22.6 percent reported having any type of disability and 13.9 percent reported having a severe disability
- Between the ages of 55 and 64, 35.7 percent reported having any type of disability and 24.2 percent reported having a severe disability
- Between the ages of 65 and 69, 44.9 percent reported having any type of disability and 30.7 percent reported having a severe disability
- Between the ages of 70 and 74, 46.6 percent reported having any type of disability and 28.3 percent reported having a severe disability
- Between the ages of 75 and 79, 57.7 percent reported having any type of disability and 38.0 percent reported having a severe disability
- Over age 80, 73.6 percent reported having any type of disability and 57.6 percent reported having a severe disability
