SUBJECT:  ADDITION OF AIR TEMPERATURE AND DEW POINT MOS GUIDANCE 
          AT MARINE LOCATIONS...BASED ON THE GFS MODEL... 
          EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 14 2004

NOTE: THE FOLLOWING CHANGES HAVE NO IMPACT ON NOAA WEATHER 
WIRE SUBSCRIBERS. 

ATTENTION: USERS OF THE MODEL OUTPUT STATISTICS /MOS/ GUIDANCE.

ON SEPTEMBER 14 2004... THE NWS IS ADDING AIR TEMPERATURE AND DEW 
POINT MOS GUIDANCE FOR MARINE SITES. THESE NEW MOS GUIDANCE 
WEATHER ELEMENTS WILL BECOME PART OF THE EXISTING MOS GUIDANCE AT 
MARINE LOCATIONS WHICH IS BASED ON THE GLOBAL FORECAST SYSTEM 
/GFS/ MODEL. THE GUIDANCE IS AVAILABLE FOR 121 STATIONS IN THE 
UNITED STATES AS AN ALPHANUMERIC PRODUCT.  THE COMMUNICATION 
IDENTIFIERS FOR THE ALPHANUMERIC BULLETINS ARE SHOWN IN TABLE 1.  
THE PRODUCTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THE NWS TELECOMMUNICATIONS 
GATEWAY...THE NWS FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOL /FTP/ SERVER 
/TGFTP/...AND THE METEOROLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT LAB /MDL/ WEB PAGES.

TABLE 1: COMMUNICATION IDENTIFIERS FOR THE ALPHANUMERIC BULLETINS 
OF GFS-BASED MOS GUIDANCE AT MARINE STATIONS.  THE 
ADVANCED WEATHER INTERACTIVE PROCESSING SYSTEM /AWIPS/ 
IDS ARE MMGXXX...WHERE XXX DENOTES THE GEOGRAPHIC 
REGION FOR WHICH THE GUIDANCE IS VALID.
