OCIO > TOC > ISCS > Service AccessISCSService Access GuideThe WAFS satellite broadcast covers two thirds of the globe. The downlinks are contracted through MCI. MCI is the present U.S. "contracted supplier" of the satellite broadcast communications service. This service provider supplys the downlink antennia and associated ground equipment. The RMTN two-way capablility satellite communications system covers the area of the Atlantic. This equipment will be needed to provide access to an X.25 port data stream for the connection of a receiving computer workstation. How to Obtain AccessTo get access to the service requires a VSAT downlink. To obtain authorization to purchase and install the equipment by the vendor you must contact the Assistant Administrator for Weather Services through his International Activities Office.
