FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
714 AM AKDT THU MAR 26 2015

.DISCUSSION...A LOW IN THE NORTHWEST GULF OF ALASKA WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTHWARD THROUGH THE DAY. THE FRONT
ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW IS BRINGING RAINFALL TO THE GULF
COAST AND OVER THE MOUNTAINS WHILE THE LEEWARD SIDE OF
THE MOUNTAINS REMAINS DRY IN SPITE OF MORE MOIST AIR
MOVING INTO THE AREA. RH RECOVERY IN THE MATANUSKA VALLEY
WAS VERY WEAK BUT THE ABUNDANCE IN MOISTURE ENTERING THE
AREA SHOULD FINALLY BE SEEN IN RISING DEWPOINTS TODAY WHICH
WILL LIMIT THE AMOUNT THE RH WILL DROP THIS AFTERNOON. GUSTY
SOUTHEAST WINDS OUT OF THE KNIK RIVER VALLEY WILL DEVELOP THIS
AFTERNOON...AND EVENTUALLY THIS WILL USHER IN THE MOISTER
AIR...BUT THERE MAY BE AN HOUR OR TWO LATE THIS AFTERNOON WHERE
NEAR-RED FLAG CONDITIONS EXIST BEFORE THE MORE SUBSTANTIAL RH
RECOVERY OVERNIGHT.
