THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TUCSON HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHWESTERN COCHISE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA...

* UNTIL 415 PM MST THURSDAY

* AT 1014 PM MST MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN CONTINUED OVER SOUTHWEST AND
  SOUTHERN COCHISE COUNTY. WIDESPREAD RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN 2 AND
  4 INCHES HAVE OCCURED OVER THE PAST 24 TO 36 HOURS. HARDEST HIT
  AREAS INCLUDE LOCATIONS IN AND AROUND THE SAN PEDRO RIVER AS WELL
  AS DRAINAGES THAT FEED INTO THE SAN PEDRO RIVER. THE GAUGE AT
  PALOMINAS IS CURRENTLY FORECAST TO EXCEED FLOOD STAGE IN THE EARLY
  MORNING HOURS.

A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR HAS BEEN REPORTED.
STREAM RISES WILL BE SLOW AND FLASH FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...ALL INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS
IMMEDIATELY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF AREAS
NEAR RIVERS AND WASHES AS WELL AS SOME AREAS DRAINING INTO THEM. IN
ADDITION...SOME ROADS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS WILL EXPERIENCE
FLOODING.

  INDICATE MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS EASTERN SANTA CRUZ...
  FAR SOUTHEAST PIMA...AND SOUTHWESTERN COCHISE COUNTIES. RADAR
  RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN ONE-THIRD AND ONE-HALF INCH PER HOUR
  WERE NOTED IN THIS AREA...WITH 3 HOUR RAINFALL TOTALS OF
  BETWEEN ONE AND TWO INCHES. THIS RAINFALL IS OCCURRING ON SOIL
  THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN SATURATED FROM EARLIER RAINFALL. MOVEMENT
  OF THE SHOWERS IS TO THE NORTH-NORTHEAST AT 5 TO 10 MPH.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
