DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAUNTON MA
1214 PM EST SUN MAR 1 2015

High pressure will move offshore of New England today and in its
wake clouds will increase and thicken as a storm system approaches
from the west. Out ahead of this system, snow will overspread the
region from west to east this afternoon. This fast moving storm
system will bring accumulating snow to the region this evening into
early Monday morning, with the highest amounts expected over central
and southern Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts to the Cape
Cod Canal area.

The snow is expected to produce liquid water equivalents averaging
0.25 to 0.50 inches.

The storm system will exit east of our region early Monday and by
Monday afternoon it will be dry with gusty northwest winds. Dry
conditions will continue into Tuesday as high pressure builds over
New England.

Given that frozen precipitation is expected and not rain, area main
stem river levels will change little through Tuesday.

These forecasts include 24 hour precipitation for the period ending
at 7 am today, and forecast precipitation through 7 am tomorrow.

DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY
1101 AM EST SUN MAR 1 2015

Between four and seven tenths of an inch...with locally higher
amounts of liquid equivalent is expected to fall through
tonight...mainly in the form of snow. This will result in little
to no immediate impact on the Hydrologic Service Area. Drier
weather is expected on Monday.

A prolonged period of cold air across the Hydrologic Service Area
will aid in ice build up on area rivers and streams. Ice jams are
possible, which if they occur, could result in significant rises.

A series of winter/spring flood outlooks are issued by the
National Weather Service through April, and are available on our
home page at weather.gov/nyc. These outlooks provide insight into
the likelihood of river flooding across the Hydrologic Service Area.
