...RISES ON AREA SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS...


RAIN FALL AMOUNTS FROM ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH TO NEAR ONE AND ONE
HALF INCH FELL ACROSS THE FORECAST THE PAST 24-36 HOURS. THIS HAS
RESULTED IN RISES ON SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS ACROSS EASTERN
WASHINGTON AND NORTH IDAHO. SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS WILL MOST
LIKELY RUN HIGH AND FAST THROUGH FRIDAY...BUT FLOODING IS NOT
EXPECTED.

THE STEEPER SLOPES THAT BURNED THIS PAST SUMMER IN CHELAN AND OKANOGAN
COUNTIES COULD EXPERIENCE SOME MUD SLIDES...HOWEVER LARGE FLASH FLOODS
AND DEBRIS DEBRIS FLOWS ARE NOT EXPECTED. IF YOU NOTICE CREEKS THAT ARE
BACKING UP BEHIND PLUGGED CULVERTS OR DEBRIS DAMS AND ARE COMING OUT OF
THEIR BANKS...PLEASE CALL YOUR LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS OR
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SO AN ALERT MESSAGE CAN BE WIDELY DISTRIBUTED.

Rain fall amounts from one quarter of an inch to near one and one
half inch fell across the forecast the past 34-36 hours. This has
resulted in rises on small rivers and streams across Eastern Washington
and North Idaho. Small rivers and streams will most likely run high
and fast through Friday...but flooding is not expected.

The steeper slopes that burned this past summer in Chelan and Okanogan
counties could experience some mud slides...However large flash floods
and debris debris flows are not expected. If you notice creeks that are
backing up behind plugged culverts or debris dams and are coming out of
their banks...please call your local emergency management officials or
the National Weather Service so an alert message can be widely distributed.

Another round of rain is anticipated through the weekend which may affect
the region as well.
