...THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
1130 PM CDT FOR NORTHERN CHRISTIAN AND NORTHERN TODD COUNTIES...

AT 833 PM CDT...MOST OF THE HEAVY RAIN THAT PROMPTED THAT ADVISORY
HAS MOVED EAST OF THE ADVISORY. UP TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN HAVE
ALREADY FALLEN SINCE THIS AFTERNOON OVER MOST OF NORTHERN CHRISTIAN
COUNTY AND EASTWARD INTO TODD COUNTY BETWEEN ALLEGRE AND CLIFTY.

AT THIS TIME...NO ADDITIONAL REPORTS OF FLOODING HAVE BEEN RECEIVED
ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA.

THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO...THE ADVISORY MAY BE CANCELLED PRIOR TO 1130
PM CDT.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
HOPKINSVILLE...CROFTON...HAWKINS...CLIFTY AND ALLEGRE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO

* URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
NORTHERN CHRISTIAN COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY...
NORTHERN TODD COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY...

* UNTIL 1130 PM CDT FRIDAY

NEAR CROFTON THAT WAS CAUSING SIX INCHES OF WATER TO FLOW OVER
HIGHWAY 800 NEAR CROFTON AND BEAR HIGHWAY 107 SOUTHEAST OF
  CROFTON.

THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING OVER PARTS OF
NORTHERN CHRISTIAN AND NORTHERN TODD COUNTY THIS EVENING. THESE
AREAS HAVE ALREADY SEEN RADAR ESTIMATED RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF SIX TO
EIGHT INCHES SINCE THE FIRST OF JULY.

UP TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN OVER NORTHERN
CHRISTIAN COUNTY SINCE 230 PM CDT.

* SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...

ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE PONDING OF WATER IN
URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER
POOR DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL
ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...AS WELL AS FARM AND COUNTRY ROADS. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS

TO REPORT FLOODING...HAVE THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY RELAY
YOUR REPORT TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST OFFICE.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
