DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RALEIGH, NC
1206 PM EDT THU JUN 30 2016

Numerous showers and thunderstorms moved across the Raleigh
hydrologic service area during the past 24 hours. Most locations
received a quarter of an inch or less of rain, however locations
that experienced thunderstorms had much higher amounts, typically
a half inch to an inch of rain. A few locations, particularly in
Lee, Harnett, Johnston, and Wayne Counties had amounts of 1.5
to 3 inches with a few isolated reports of more than 3 inches.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected again this
afternoon and evening with locally heavy rain. A persistent
weather pattern will result in mainly afternoon/evening storms
for Friday and especially the weekend.

All main-stem rivers are within their banks, and no flooding is
expected over the next 48 hours. Locally heavy rain will, however,
result in rises on smaller streams and creeks.

Detailed river and precipitation information may be found
on the National Weather Services Advanced Hydrologic
Prediction Service website:

DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG SC
1059 AM EDT THU JUN 30 2016

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this
afternoon with locally heavy rainfall possible. However, total
basin-averaged rainfall is expected to remain below a half an
inch across the forecast area. Major rivers will therefore
continue to recede or stay nearly steady over the next 5 days.
There remains a slight chance that a thunderstorm will cause heavy
rainfall over one of the major tributaries, causing a temporary and
within-bank rise, but this is beyond forecast capabilities.
