FLOOD STATEMENT

...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in North
Dakota...
  Souris River near Foxholm affecting Ward County
  Souris River near Towner affecting McHenry County
  Souris River near Bantry affecting McHenry County
  Souris River near Westhope affecting Bottineau County
For the Souris River Basin including Foxholm...Towner...Bantry...
Westhope...Moderate flooding is occurring and is expected to
continue.

.High flow out of Canada will continue through the weekend and well
into the fourth week of April. The net result of this is that the
high water currently along the Souris River in North Dakota will
see little change until near the end of April.  In the short term,
no change is expected immediately downstream of Lake Darling.
However, in the Towner to Westhope reach of the Souris River, a
very slight rise is expected over the coming days. Impacts at
expected water levels remain restricted to low-lying agricultural
land with no cities at risk of flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...


Safety message...Do not drive into areas where water tops the
roadway. Turn around...Don`t drown. Avoid driving on flooded roads.

For the Souris River Basin including Towner...Bantry...Moderate
flooding is occurring and is expected to continue.

.A very slow but steady increase along the Souris River in the Towner to
Bantry area will eventually push water levels into the moderate flood
stage category at both of these forecast point. Overall, this is not
likely to result in much greater impacts than those already being
experienced. Impacts remain restricted to agricultural land near the river.
