UNSEASONABLY AND IN SOME CASES RECORD WARM TEMPERATURES FOR THE MONTH OF
JANUARY AFFECTED PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA DURING
THE DAY ON TUESDAY...JANUARY 27TH 2015. HIGH TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE
REGION WERE 20 TO ALMOST 40 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF THE
YEAR. THESE ABNORMALLY WARM TEMPERATURES WERE IN RESPONSE TO AN AMPLIFIED
RIDGE WITH ORIGINS OVER THE HIGH TERRAIN OF THE INTER-MOUNTAIN
WEST...WHICH THEN MOVED OVER THE NORTHERN HIGH PLAINS AND NEBRASKA
PANHANDLE BY TUESDAY. THE RESULT OF THIS PROPOGATING RIDGE AND WARM
AIR ALOFT...LED TO WARM SURFACE TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE REGION.
THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE RECORDED OVER WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA
WAS 77 DEGREES AT BOTH THE IMPERIAL AIRPORT AND 6.0 MILES SOUTH OF
