A cold front will approach today bringing showers and
thunderstorms the area, especially west of the Blue Ridge. The
front will pass through the area Tuesday into Tuesday night bringing
another chance for showers and thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and
evening.

High pressure will return Wednesday before moving offshore late
in the week.

.WEATHER SUMMARY...
High pressure moved over the Mid Atlantic region Sunday, which
resulted in plenty of sunshine. By late afternoon, high
temperatures varied from the mid 70s in the mountains to the mid
80s in the piedmont.

Clear to partly cloudy skies continued Sunday night into Monday
morning as the high center slide off to the east ahead of an
approaching cold front. Early Monday morning temperatures ranged
from around 60 degrees in the cooler valleys to the mid 60s in the
piedmont. The combination of light winds and low level moisture
resulted in pockets of fog.

.FORECAST SUMMARY...
A cold front will arrive from the northwest today and travel east
into tonight. This front should provide showers and thunderstorms
this afternoon through tonight. A reinforcing cold front will
cross the area Tuesday into Tuesday night. High pressure briefly
returns to the area on Wednesday.
