AS ANOTHER SIGN OF THE EARLY SPRING IN FAIRBANKS...TREE FROGS
APPEARED IN THE AREA THIS WEEK. THEY ARE HARD TO SEE BUT HAVE A
NOTICABLE CROAK THAT SOUNDS LIKE A DUCK QUACK...AND OCCUR NEAR
SPRING MELT WATER PONDS. THE FRIENDS OF CREAMERS FIELD REPORT THIS
TO BE THE EARLIEST APPEARANCE OF FROGS IN MEMORY.

THIS SIGN OF SPRING GOES ALONG WITH THE EARLIEST GREEN UP DATE ON
RECORD THAT OCCURED ON TUESDAY.

AS OF APRIL 26...THIS APRIL HAS BEEN THE SECOND WARMEST APRIL ON
RECORD. ONLY APRIL OF 1940 HAD A WARMER AVERAGE TEMPERATURE.
