MONDAY EVENING...

* LOCATIONS...THE SOUTHERN FOOTHILLS...SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS...AND
  THE PIEDMONT OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA. ALSO...NORTHEAST
  GEORGIA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA MAINLY NORTHWEST OF
  INTERSTATE 85.

* HAZARDS...A MIXTURE OF SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING RAIN.

* TIMING...PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS LIGHT SNOW TONIGHT...MIXING
  WITH AND CHANGING OVER TO SLEET MONDAY MORNING. A PERIOD OF
  FREEZING RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE INTO MONDAY AFTERNOON BEFORE
  TEMPERATURES WARM ENOUGH TO CHANGE THE PRECIPITATION OVER TO ALL
  RAIN SOMETIME MONDAY AFTERNOON.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS RANGING FROM UP TO
  AN INCH NEAR THE INTERSTATE 85 CORRIDOR TO 3 INCHES ALONG AND
  NORTH OF INTERSTATE 40. THIS MAY INCLUDE ONE HALF INCH OR MORE
  OF SLEET...ALONG WITH A GLAZE TO A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE FROM
  FREEZING RAIN.

* WINDS...EAST AT 5 TO 10 MPH.

* IMPACTS...ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING RAIN
  MAY RESULT IN HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

* TEMPERATURES...MOSTLY IN THE 20S EARLY...RISING ABOVE FREEZING
  THROUGH THE DAY ON MONDAY.

  The Edisto River Near Givhans Ferry.
* At 9 PM Saturday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast, the river will continue to fall.
* At 12.0 feet, most homes on Happiness Lane are accessible only by
  boat. Flooding also occurs along roadways south of Highway 17
  Alternate including Camp Buddy Road.
