FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STATE COLLEGE PA
452 PM EDT WED APR 23 2014
...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING FOR PORTIONS OF THE AREA...

.DISCUSSION...
HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD INTO THE REGION TONIGHT AND
THURSDAY...BRINGING FAIR WEATHER AND DIMINISHING WIND. THE
SUNNY AND DRY WEATHER...COMBINED WITH DRY FINE FUELS WILL
RESULT IN AN ELEVATED FIRE POTENTIAL THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
A RELATIVELY LIGHT WIND SHOULD LIMIT THE WILDFIRE THREAT ACROSS
MOST OF CENTRAL PA. HOWEVER...THE WIND WILL BE A BIT STRONGER
ACROSS THE EASTERN THIRD OF THE STATE. THUS...A FIRE WEATHER WATCH
IS IN EFFECT FOR THAT PORTION OF THE COMMONWEALTH.
HIGHER HUMIDITY AND THE CHANCE OF SHOWERS WILL ACCOMPANY THE
APPROACH OF A WARM FRONT ON FRIDAY.
