 The French Broad River At Blantyre
* Until Friday night.
* At 1100 AM Thursday the stage was...18.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* The river is cresting and will remain around 18.2 feet this
  afternoon. The river will fall tonight and Friday while going
  below flood stage Friday night.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet...Minor Flooding of the French Broad River
  will continue. The river will overtop the railroad tracks near
  Fodderstack Mountain Road and River Ridge Road. Flooding of most of
  areas between the river and the railroad tracks will continue.

Previous heavy rain has kept the river level high and will not fall
below action stage until sometime later Thursday morning.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Advisory for a river forecast point means that nuisance
flooding is expected to occur along the river when the river level is
forecast to be just below or at the official  flood stage.

Caution is urged when walking near river banks...keep children away
from drainage areas and culverts.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 18.5 feet by early Thursday
  afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage late Friday.
* Impact...At 18.0 feet...Minor Flooding of the French Broad River
  will continue. The river will overtop the railroad tracks near
  Fodderstack Mountain Road and River Ridge Road. Flooding of most of
  areas between the river and the railroad tracks will continue.
