.Flooding along the White River in southwest Indiana will end by
Wednesday morning after persisting for more than 5 weeks. Flooding
on the Wabash River in western Indiana is also drawing to a close
and will end by August 5th. Much of the Wabash River from Lafayette
to Hutsonville will have been in flood for 8 weeks.

Locally heavy rainfall of 1 to possibly more than 2 inches fell in
portions of southern Indiana on Monday evening. This rain was not
widespread and will have marginal impact on rivers in southern and
western Indiana. Rainfall for the week ending August 3 is expected
to be one half of an inch or less in much of central and southern
Indiana and will have little effect on rivers.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

For detailed flood information go to weather.gov/ind on the web and
