Advisory for the Michigamme River near Crystal Falls in Iron
County...

.Widespread rainfall totals in excess of 3 inches have fallen across the
Michigamme River Basin since Sunday. The continued runoff from this heavy
rainfall has caused the Michigamme River to rise above bankfull. Additional
light rainfall is expected through this evening with runoff continuing into
the day Saturday. Dry weather is expected this weekend.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Residents along these rivers should remain alert and
exercise caution when walking near riverbanks.

* Flood Advisory for
  The Chocolay River near Harvey.
* until this evening.
* At 10 AM Thursday the stage was 9.3 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to near 9.5 feet by this afternoon.
* At 10.0 feet...Water inundates the entire parking lot at the M-28
  bridge...and the fishing pier begins to be submerged. Water
  inundates low lying areas along Timber Lane and Riverside Road
  downstream of the river gauge site.
* At 9.0 feet...Water begins to inundate the parking lot where M-28
  crosses the Chocolay River...as well as low lying areas along
  Timber Lane and towards the mouth of the river.

  Michigamme River near Crystal Falls affecting Iron County

.Widespread rainfall totals in excess of 3 inches have fallen across the
Michigamme River Basin since Sunday. The continued runoff from this heavy
rainfall has caused the Michigamme River to rise above bankfull. Additional
heavy rainfall up to and possibly exceeding 1 inch is expected from late this
afternoon through Friday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Residents along these rivers should remain alert and
exercise caution when walking near riverbanks.

A Flood Advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull. If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning. Report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the National Weather Service.
