...THE FLOOD ADVISORY HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR THE TAIYA RIVER NEAR
SKAGWAY...

THE TAIYA RIVER HAS BEEN STEADILY FALLING THE LAST SEVERAL HOURS
WITH A DECREASE IN RAINFALL. THE RIVER PEAKED AT 16.5 FEET AT 130 PM
AKDT WHICH IS THE MINOR FLOOD STAGE AND AS OF 9 PM IS AT 16.2 FEET.
THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO FALL SLOWLY THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING BUT
REMAIN NEAR OR JUST ABOVE THE BANKFULL LEVEL OF 16.0 FEET. NORMAL
DIURNAL TRENDS WOULD HAVE THE RIVER BEGIN RISING AGAIN THROUGH
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BUT THIS RISE WOULD BE LIMITED BY LACK OF
DAYTIME HEATING AND COOLING TEMPERATURES ALOFT. ANY HEAVY SHOWERS
THAT PASS OVER THE BASIN WILL CAUSE THE RIVER TO SLOW ITS DECLINE OR
EVEN RISE AGAIN FOR A PERIOD...BUT IT IS NOT EXPECTED TO REACH MINOR
FLOOD STAGE.

THIS WILL BE THE FINAL STATEMENT ON THIS EVENT.
