* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WESTERN AND CENTRAL DAWSON COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA...

* UNTIL 1015 AM CDT WEDNESDAY

* THOUGH THE RIVER GAGE SITE AT COZAD IS TECHNICALLY BELOW FLOOD
  STAGE AT THAT LOCATION...MINOR FLOODING ALONG THE RIVER WILL
  CONTINUE IN DAWSON COUNTY AT SEVERAL LOCATIONS. FLOODING WILL
  REMAIN MOST EXTENSIVE SOUTH OF GOTHENBURG...BUT WILL ALSO BE
  NOTED DOWNSTREAM TO EAST OF LEXINGTON.

THIS FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES UNTIL MAY 27. WHILE THE CREST HAS
PASSED...THE RIVER WILL FALL VERY SLOWLY...ONLY A FEW INCHES A DAY
AT MOST. THEREFORE...THIS AREAL FLOODING WARNING WILL CONTINUE FOR
SEVERAL DAYS.

FLUCTUATIONS IN RIVER LEVELS SHOULD BE MINIMAL AS IT FALLS...BUT
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL UPSTREAM OVER THE WEEKEND MAY EVENTUALLY LEAD TO
ADJUSTMENTS TO FUTURE RIVER FORECASTS. IF YOUR INTERESTS ARE
IMPACTED BY THESE HIGH WATER LEVELS...PLEASE MONITOR RIVER LEVELS
AND THE LATEST FORECASTS FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

* At 9:15 AM Friday the stage was 6.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late tonight
  and continue to rise to near 6.6 feet by tomorrow morning. The
  river will remain above flood stage through at least Monday
  morning. This warning covers a stretch of the river from roughly
  Doniphan to Clarks...however the vast majority of flood issues
  will be within about 5 river miles either side of the Highway 34
  gauge site.
* At 6.5 feet...low lying areas adjacent to the river experience
  most of the flooding.
