FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EASTERN KENTUCKY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON KY
653 AM EDT MON JUL 28 2014

.DISCUSSION...THE STRONG COLD FRONT THAT PLAGUED EASTERN KY YESTERDAY
HAS NOW MOVED SE OF THE REGION. IN ITS WAKE...EXPECT A MUCH COLDER
AIRMASS TO TAKE HOLD...WITH WINDS GENERALLY OUT OF THE NW. DAYTIME
MIXING AND TIGHT PRESSURE GRADIENTS BEHIND THE FRONT COULD WORK TO
PRODUCE SOME HIGHER GUSTS IN THE 20 TO 25 MPH RANGE THIS AFTERNOON.
WRAP AROUND MOISTURE FROM THE STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM /NOW TO OUR
NW/ WILL MOVE INTO FAR EASTERN KY TODAY. THIS COULD BRING SOME BKN
CLOUD COVER AS WELL AS SOME LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS TO PORTIONS OF EASTERN
KY TODAY...AND AGAIN TOMORROW MORNING. OTHERWISE...EXPECT CALM
CONDITIONS AND BELOW NORMAL TEMPS FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS A STRONG
UPPER LEVEL TROUGH AND SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE REMAIN IN CONTROL.
