FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
537 AM EDT THU JUL 24 2014

...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY TODAY...THEN UNSETTLED WEATHER SPREADS INTO
THE AREA FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

.DISCUSSION...HIGH PRESSURE WILL LINGER OVER THE WESTERN GREAT LAKES
REGION TODAY. THE DRY AIR MASS ASSOCIATED WITH THE HIGH WILL RESULT
IN MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY FALLING TO 30 TO 35 PERCENT TODAY INLAND
FROM THE GREAT LAKES. WINDS WILL BE MOSTLY UNDER 10 MPH WITH LAKE
BREEZES DEVELOPING OFF THE GREAT LAKES FOR THE AFTERNOON HOURS. AS
THE HIGH PRESSURE EXITS...SCATTERED SHOWERS COULD ENTER THE PICTURE
OVER THE WEST HALF OF UPPER MICHIGAN FRIDAY. THE POTENTIAL OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE OVER THE WEEKEND WITH THE
BEST CHANCE OF WIDESPREAD RAINFALL LATE SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY.
ANOTHER PERIOD OF COOL WEATHER AND BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES IS
EXPECTED FOR THE FIRST HALF OF NEXT WEEK WITH THE COOLEST WEATHER
SUNDAY AND MONDAY. THERE WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED TO
SCATTERED SHOWERS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY AS WELL.
