FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
340 PM AKDT WED APR 16 2014

.DISCUSSION...A WEAK AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL DISSIPATE OVER THE
WESTERN GULF TONIGHT. IT WILL KEEP PUSHING WETTING RAINS UP AGAINST
THE SOUTHEAST KENAI PENINSULA TONIGHT AND OVER KODIAK ISLAND
THROUGH MOST OF THURSDAY. WEAK HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD OVER
SOUTHCENTRAL ON THURSDAY ALLOWING SKIES TO START TO CLEAR. AFTERNOON
HEATING SHOULD ALLOW SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS TO FIRE ALONG THE MOUNTAINS.
ANOTHER WAVE WILL MOVE TOWARDS THE GULF COAST EARLY FRIDAY. THIS
WILL LIKELY BRING ANOTHER ROUND OF WETTING RAINS TO COASTAL AREAS
WHILE SOME GUSTY DOWNSLOPING SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL BE THE MAIN IMPACT
INLAND.

FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ANCHORAGE AK
403 PM AKDT TUE APR 15 2014

.DISCUSSION...ONE WEAK WAVE WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION TONIGHT
BRINGING A BRIEF SHOT OF MARGINALLY GUSTY SOUTHEAST WINDS TO FAVORED
LOCATIONS. IT WILL ALSO CONTINUE TO PUSH WETTING RAINS ONSHORE THROUGH
WEDNESDAY FOR MOST COASTAL AREAS. MOST OF THIS MOISTURE WILL ONLY
MAKE IT INLAND AS SPOTTY RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS FOR HIGHER ELEVATIONS.
A WEAK RIDGE WILL PROVIDE CLEARING SKIES AND DRYING CONDITIONS FOR
NEARLY ALL AREAS ON THURSDAY. THEN ANOTHER WAVE OF PRECIPITATION
PUSHES INTO THE COAST FRIDAY BRINGING ANOTHER ROUND OF GUSTY
SOUTHEAST WINDS TO FAVORED INLAND LOCATIONS.
