.DISCUSSION...
HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE UPPER MIDWEST WILL GRADUALLY BUILD SOUTHEAST
ACROSS THE AREA BRINGING DRIER CONDITIONS UNDER LIGHTER NORTHWEST
WINDS THIS AFTERNOON. THIS IN COMBINATION WITH TEMPERATURES WARMING TO
AROUND 50 DEGREES AND LOW DEWPOINTS WILL RESULT IN AFTERNOON HUMIDITY
LEVELS FALLING TO AROUND 30 PERCENT UNDER MAINLY SUNNY SKIES. HOWEVER
LIGHTER WINDS WILL LEAD TO LOWER MIXING HEIGHTS EVEN AS THE NEAR SURFACE
INVERSION LAYER SLOWLY MIXES OUT LATER THIS MORNING.

CLOUDS WILL RETURN OVERNIGHT WITH SOME LIGHT PRECIPITATION IN THE FORM OF
RAIN AND SNOW OR A WINTRY MIX ARRIVING JUST PRIOR TO DAYBREAK ON SATURDAY.
HOWEVER AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LIGHT WITH LIQUID TOTALS OF ONLY A TENTH
OF AN INCH OR LESS.

SPOT FORECAST FOR YADKIN RIVER RX...NC STATE PARKS

FORECAST IS BASED ON IGNITION TIME OF 1200 EST ON DECEMBER 19.
IF CONDITIONS BECOME UNREPRESENTATIVE...CONTACT THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE.

.DISCUSSION...
