558 AM MDT SUN JUL 27 2014

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EASTERN UTAH AND WESTERN
COLORADO.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL EXPAND THIS MORNING OVER
SOUTHEAST UTAH AND WESTERN COLORADO...BECOMING SCATTERED IN THE
WESTERN COLORADO HIGH COUNTRY. WETTING RAINS ARE EXPECTED FOR MOST
MOUNTAIN LOCATIONS. IN THE VALLEYS...BRIEF HEAVY SHOWERS WILL
ACCOMPANY THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WITH LOCALIZED GUSTS OF 30
TO 40 MPH. FREQUENT AND DEADLY CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING STRIKES
WILL ACCOMPANY THUNDERSTORMS.

LOCALIZED MUD DEBRIS FLOWS OR FALLING ROCKS WILL BE POSSIBLE IN
THOSE AREAS PRONE TO SUCH ACTIVITY...LIKE STEEP TERRAIN. MOST
STORM ACTIVITY WILL DIE DOWN BY MIDNIGHT...BUT ISOLATED STORMS
WILL LINGER THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

EXPECT SCATTERED AFTERNOON AND EVENING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
...PRIMARILY OVER THE MOUNTAINS EACH DAY DURING THE COMING WEEK.
A FEW STORMS WILL DRIFT OFF THE MOUNTAINS LATE IN THE DAY
PRODUCING GUSTY WINDS AND BRIEF SHOWERS.

MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY IS EXPECTED TO BE A PARTICULARLY ACTIVE
PERIOD AS A DISTURBANCE OF TROPICAL ORIGIN SWEEPS OVER THE
FORECAST AREA. MOISTURE LEVELS ARE INDICATED TO INCREASE
SIGNIFICANTLY AND AS A RESULT MOST STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF
PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN. THE STRONGEST STORMS COULD GENERATE
EXCESSIVE RAINFALL AMOUNTS POSING AN INCREASED RISK OF FLASH
FLOODS AND MUD/DEBRIS FLOWS.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT EXPECTED TODAY OR TONIGHT...HOWEVER
SPOTTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO RELAY RAINFALL AMOUNTS OR ANY OBSERVED
FLOODING TO THE GRAND JUNCTION FORECAST OFFICE.
