NORTHEAST MISSOURI TO CENTRAL ILLINOIS LINE. THIS BOUNDARY
WILL BEGIN TO LIFT NORTH AS A WARM FRONT THIS AFTERNOON
WITH LOW LEVEL MOISTURE POOLING ALONG THIS FRONT.
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO STEADILY BUILD IN COVERAGE
LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING...STEADILY LIFTING
NORTH ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA. WITH
MOISTURE RICH AIR LIFTING NORTH WITH THE BOUNDARY...SOME
OF THE THUNDERSTORMS COULD EASILY PRODUCE BRIEF HEAVY
DOWNPOURS WHICH COULD LEAD TO LOCALIZED FLOODING TONIGHT.
IN ADDITION A FEW OF THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE
CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE PERIODIC CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS
THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. THE BEST CHANCE FOR STORMS WILL BE
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. HEAVY RAINFALL COULD OCCUR WITH ANY
THUNDERSTORMS THAT AFFECT THE AREA.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.

439 AM CDT TUE AUG 19 2014 /539 AM EDT TUE AUG 19 2014/

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

 WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

   SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME COULD PRODUCE:
   PEA TO DIME SIZE HAIL.
   WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH.
   FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
   LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL.

 AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

ONGOING LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS EARLY THIS MORNING ACROSS
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP
THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING
ALONG AND EAST OF A MENDOTA TO CHICAGO LINE.

  DISCUSSION:

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WAS OVER NORTHEAST WISCONSIN THIS
MORNING...AND IS EXPECTED TO STEADILY MOVE EAST ACROSS LAKE
MICHIGAN INTO NORTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN EARLY WEDNESDAY
MORNING. ASSOCIATED WITH THIS LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WAS A
FRONTAL BOUNDARY THAT EXTENDS SOUTH ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS.
THE ENVIRONMENT AHEAD OF THIS FRONTAL BOUNDARY HAS BECOME
MOIST AND UNSTABLE...ALLOWING FOR SOME MORNING THUNDERSTORMS
ACROSS FAR NORTHEAST ILLINOIS. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP MIDDAY ALONG THIS BOUNDARY
AND SLIDE EAST THROUGH THIS EVENING...MAINLY ALONG AND
EAST OF A MENDOTA TO CHICAGO LINE. THE INCREASED MOISTURE
IN THE ATMOSPHERE WILL ALLOW SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS TO
PRODUCE HEAVY DOWNPOURS. OTHER HAZARDS WILL BE SMALL
HAIL AND WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE PERIODIC CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS
WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY. THE BEST CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE

THE BEST CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY. HEAVY RAINFALL COULD OCCUR WITH
ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT AFFECT THE AREA.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
