A COLDER NORTHWEST FLOW WILL DEVELOP BEHIND THE DEPARTING FRONTAL
SYSTEM. THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE A CHANCE FOR SNOWFALL IN THE
HIGHER TERRAIN DURING THE DAY TUESDAY AS THIS NORTHWEST FLOW IS
FORCED OVER THE MOUNTAINS. HIGHER TERRAIN AREAS COULD PICK UP
POSSIBLY AS MUCH AS ONE ADDITIONAL INCH OF NEW SNOW...WITH LOCALLY
HIGHER AMOUNTS IN THE HIGHEST PEAKS OF THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS.

THE CHANCE FOR SNOW IS LOWER IN THE GREAT VALLEY. HOWEVER...A
DUSTING OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE FROM THE TRI-CITIES REGION OF NORTHEAST

COLDER AIR MOVING IN BEHIND A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL KEEP SNOW
SHOWERS AROUND ACROSS HIGHER ELEVATION AREAS THROUGH MUCH OF TODAY.
RAIN SHOWERS MAY MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SNOW SHOWERS IN THE LOWER
ELEVATIONS AS WELL...BUT LITTLE OR NO ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED
THERE. ADDITIONAL DAYTIME ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO 2 INCHES ARE
EXPECTED MAINLY AT ELEVATIONS ABOVE 2500 FEET IN THE EAST TENNESSEE
MOUNTAINS. AROUND AN INCH OR LESS OF SNOW ACCUMULATION WILL BE
POSSIBLE ACROSS HIGHER ELEVATION AREAS OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA AND
THE NORTHERN PLATEAU. LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER

EAST TENNESSEE COULD SEE AROUND 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW. A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY HAS BEEN POSTED FOR MAINLY THE EASTERN MOUNTAINS
OF EAST TENNESSEE...FROM MIDNIGHT THROUGH NOON EST MONDAY.

TRAVEL PLANS COULD BE AFFECTED BY THIS FAST MOVING WEATHER SYSTEM
WITH WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ALSO IN EFFECT FOR ADJACENT AREAS.

NORTHEAST TO THE TRI-CITIES AREA...AND MAYBE A LITTLE MORE IN THE
