STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS WESTERN
UTAH AND CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING HOURS...WITH GUSTS NEAR 50 MPH
POSSIBLE. THESE WINDS WILL ALSO RESULT IN UNSEASONABLY WARM
TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON.

A COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE AREA SUNDAY. THIS SYSTEM MAY BRING

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

A STRONG COLD FRONT APPROACHING UTAH FROM THE WEST WILL REACH THE
NORTHERN PORTION OF THE STATE SATURDAY EVENING...THEN SWEEP SOUTH
ACROSS THE STATE SUNDAY. AHEAD OF THE FRONT A WARMING TREND WILL
DEVELOP FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. TEMPERATURES BY SATURDAY COULD
REACH RECORD LEVEL...ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE WESTERN NORTHERN
PORTIONS OF THE STATE.

WINDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE COLD FRONT WILL BE AN ISSUE THIS
WEEKEND. STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE WESTERN
HALF OF THE STATE BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON. VALLEYS LOCATIONS WILL
EXPERIENCE WINDS IN THE 20 TO 30 MPH RANGE...WITH A FEW GUSTS
APPROACHING 50 MPH THROUGH EARLY EVENING. STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS
WILL FOLLOW THE COLD FRONT. AREAS ACROSS THE NORTHWEST DESERT...
SALT FLATS AND ALONG THE WASATCH FRONT URBAN CORRIDOR WILL
EXPERIENCE STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY EVENING. A
SECOND AREA OF STRONG POST-FRONTAL WINDS WILL ALSO DEVELOP IN THE
DOWNSLOPE WIND AREAS IN EAST-CENTRAL UTAH AND THROUGH THE WESTERN
UINTA BASIN.

PRECIPITATION ASSOCIATED WITH THE WEEKEND STORM WILL BE CONFINED
TO THE NORTHERN THIRD OF UTAH AND ACROSS SOUTHWEST WYOMING.
SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL EXIST IN THE COLD AIR
BEHIND THE COLD FRONT. THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS WILL SEE SOME
ACCUMULATING SNOW...WITH THE NORTHERN WASATCH RANGE LIKELY TO SEE
MOST OF THE SNOW. VALLEY LOCATIONS SHOULD RECEIVE RAIN...THOUGH
BRIEF PERIOD OF SNOW COULD DEVELOP IN HEAVIER SHOWERS OR
THUNDERSTORMS.

COLD TEMPERATURES ARE A GIVEN...WITH MANY AREAS SEEING A 10 TO 20
DEGREE CHANGE OR MORE FROM SATURDAY TO SUNDAY. COLD TEMPERATURES
WILL PERSIST INTO MONDAY. HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING INTO THE GREAT
BASIN WILL BRING ON ANOTHER WARMING TREND TOWARDS THE MIDDLE OF
THE WEEK.
