LOW PRESSURE CONTINUES TO SLOWLY PULL AWAY FROM SOUTHERN NEW
ENGLAND THIS AFTERNOON. THE PROLONGED RAIN EVENT PRODUCED THE
HEAVIEST RAIN NORTH OF THE MASS PIKE...WERE A GENERAL 2 TO 4
INCHES WAS NOTED...WITH LOCAL HIGHER AMOUNTS. AREAS SOUTH OF
THE MASS PIKE RECEIVED 1 TO 2 INCHES.

RUN OFF FROM THE EVENT WILL CONTINUE TO FLOW INTO THE REGIONS
RIVERS. EXCEPT FOR THE LOWER REACHES OF THE MERRIMACK RIVER ALL
OF THE REGIONS RIVERS HAVE REACHED CREST AND WILL CONTINUE TO
RECEDE THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

THESE FORECASTS INCLUDE 24 HOUR PRECIPITATION FOR THE PERIOD ENDING

LOW PRESSURE MOVING JUST SOUTH OF THE SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND COAST
BROUGHT HEAVY RAIN TO THE REGION OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS. THE MAJORITY
OF THE STEADY AND HEAVY RAIN HAS COME TO AN END. HOWEVER THERE WILL
BE A CHANCE OF SOME RAIN SHOWERS FOR THE REST OF TODAY AND INTO TONIGHT
AS THE STORM MOVES SLOWLY OFF TO THE NORTHEAST. THERE WILL STILL BE
JUST A CHANCE OF SHOWERS FRIDAY MORNING BEFORE DRIER AIR MOVES BACK
OVER THE REGION FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY.

RUN OFF FROM TODAYS HEAVY RAINS WILL CONTINUE TO FLOW INTO THE REGIONS
RIVERS. AREA MAIN STEM RIVER LEVELS WILL CONTINUE TO RISE THIS AFTERNOON.
HOWEVER MOST OF THE MAIN STEM RIVERS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW FLOOD
STAGE THE EXCEPTION IS THE NORTH NASHUA RIVER IN FITCHBURG WHICH IS
FORECAST TO GO INTO MINOR FLOOD THIS AFTERNOON.
