Heavy rainfall during the past 24 hours is producing rises on the
Cahaba River at Marion Juntion.  However...levels are expected to
remain below established flood stages...and any overflow along the
river should be of a minor nature.

The Cahaba River At Marion Junction.
 Latest Stage:     9.1 Feet AT 10 AM Saturday.
 Caution Stage:    15.0 Feet.
 Flood Stage:      36.0 Feet.
 Forecast:         Crest near 18.6 Feet early Tuesday morning
                   and then begin to fall.



Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for later
statements concerning this event.

It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected today and
tonight.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may

 Caution Stage:    15 Feet.
 Flood Stage:      36 Feet.
 Forecast:         Continued fall through tonight. Begin to rise again
                   Sunday and crest near 14.5 Feet Monday evening
                   and then begin to fall.

* Impact...At 15 feet...Flooding around Oakmulgee Creek begins and
  cattle need to be moved to higher ground. Overflow of pasture lands
  increases at stages above 20 feet.

It is emphasized that this forecast is based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected through
Saturday.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may
become necessary to revise this forecast upward.

Forecast rainfall during the next couple of days will produce rises
on the Upper Tombigbee River.  However...levels are expected to remain
below established flood stages and any overflow should be minor.

The Tombigbee River At Bevill Lock and Dam.
 Latest Stage:     113.8 Feet AT 7 AM Thursday.
 Flood Stage:      122 Feet.
 Forecast:         Crest near 121.5 Feet Sunday evening
                   and then begin to fall.

* Impact...At 122 feet...Cattle in low-lying areas of Southern
  Pickens County should be moved to higher ground. Cattle are cutoff
  in lowlands of Southern Pickens County at stages above 122 feet.

It is emphasized that this forecast is based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected the next 48
hours.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may
become necessary to revise this forecast upward.

* Impact...At 26 feet...Some flooding of low lying areas and
  secondary roads begins in the Montgomery area. Flooding of the golf
  course at Maxwell Air Force Base and portions of River Road occurs
  at stages around 30 feet and higher.


The Alabama River At Selma.
 Latest Stage:     29.0 Feet AT 7 AM Thursday.
 Caution Stage:    30 Feet.
 Flood Stage:      45 Feet.
