SNOW WILL DIMINISH OVER MOST OF THE STATE THIS MORNING.

A DEEPENING LOW PRESSURE AREA SOUTH OF LONG ISLAND THIS MORNING
WILL TRAVEL VERY QUICKLY TO THE NORTHEAST. LIGHT SNOW WHICH HAS
BEEN FALLING FOR MUCH OF THE NIGHT WILL TAPER OFF BY MID MORNING
IN THE WESTERN AND CENTRAL COUNTIES. LITTLE ADDITIONAL
ACCUMULATIONS WILL OCCUR THERE.

THE EASTERN END OF THE STATE WILL SEE PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW THIS
MORNING...BUT THAT SNOW WILL SLIDE OFF TO THE EAST AS THE STORM
PULLS AWAY. NORTHERLY WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 10 TO 20 MPH WITH
GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH IN THE EAST LATER TODAY. WINDS WILL BE LIGHTER
AND OUT OF THE NORTHWEST IN THE WESTERN HALF OF THE STATE. HIGHS
WILL BE IN THE UPPER TEENS TO NEAR 30 DEGREES...WITH WIND CHILLS
IN THE TEENS. THESE VALUES ARE BETWEEN 7 AND 15 DEGREES BELOW
NORMALS FOR LATE JANUARY.

BITTERLY COLD AIR WILL SETTLE IN UNDER CLEARING SKIES TONIGHT DUE
TO HIGH PRESSURE. LOW TEMPERATURES TONIGHT WILL RANGE FROM NEAR
ZERO IN THE WESTERN PARTS OF THE STATE TO MID TEENS IN THE
SOUTHEAST. THE GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE IN THE EAST BUT BECOME
VERY LIGHT IN THE WEST. WIND CHILLS WILL DIP INTO THE NEGATIVE
SINGLE DIGITS.

PARTLY TO MOSTLY SUNNY CONDITIONS ON WEDNESDAY WILL LEAD TO HIGH
TEMPERATURES IN THE 20S TO NEAR 30 DEGREES...ABOUT 10 DEGREES
BELOW NORMALS.
